Thresholds.

At any time you can ask yourself: At what threshold am I now standing? At this time in my life, what am I leaving? Where am I about to enter? What is preventing me from crossing my next threshold? What gift would enable me to do it? A threshold is not a simple boundary; it is a frontier that divides two different territories, rhythms, and atmospheres. Indeed, it is a lovely testimony to the fullness and integrity of an experience or stage of life that it intensifies toward the end into a real frontier that cannot be crossed without the heart being passionately engaged and woken up. At this threshold a great complexity of emotion comes alive: confusion, fear, excitement, sadness, hope.

This is one of the reasons such vital crossings were always clothed in ritual. It is wise in your own life to be able to recognize and acknowledge the key thresholds: to take your time; to feel all the varieties of presence that accrue there; to listen inward with complete attention until you hear the inner voice calling you forward. The time has come to cross.

John O’Donohue

Living your questions.

There’s an art to living your questions. You peel them. You listen to them. You let them spawn new questions. You hold the unknowing inside. You linger with it instead of rushing into half-baked answers…

You see, it’s the patient act of dwelling in the darkness of a question that eventually unravels the answer.

War or Balance?

War subsists on polarity. In war there is no room for nuance or subtlety. War is conflict between two options, and to participate in it one needs to identify with one side or the other. This applies to war between nations, to the war on cancer, etc. Whenever the word “war” is invoked, we automatically fall into identification with one side or the other.

In truth, it is “balance” that brings forth the realm of all possibility. “Balance” embraces the opposites. We wake up out of our deep sleep of polarity and begin to see the world and ourselves in a new light, a living light. This takes constant inner effort to maintain. We become aware of a third force and we are freed from the eternal feeling of discontent that is always there when we are in imprisoned in polarity.

G.I. Gurdjieff maintained that humans are “third force blind.”  Losing this blindness corresponds to what he (and the Christ) called “waking up.”

First,  it is necessary for individuals to embrace the opposites within themselves. Second, with enough of these individuals involved,  opposing “sides” within the collective can embrace the opposites for the collective (e.g. different interest groups or different countries).

Now is the time to wake up. May the entirety of humanity be freed from the prison of duality.

The Munay-Ki Rites

The Munay-Ki Rites are the sacred initiation rites of medicine men and women known as Earthkeepers who live high in the Andes and the Amazon rainforest. They are keepers of a body of prophecy that speak about this time in history as a time of great change and of great opportunity for humanity.

They foretell of a new kind of human being appearing on the planet today – a person of wisdom and power who lives free of fear and who abides in their eternal nature, accepting stewardship for all creation. We like to call this new human Homo Luminous – Beings of Light.

As important as these prophecies are the processes or rites of initiation that activate and energize our inherent self-healing powers, and which connect us to luminous helping spirits that dwell in invisible realms. These are energetic transmissions that allow us to make a quantum evolutionary leap forward.

The Munay-Ki Rites activate an ordinary person’s DNA and luminous architecture to this extraordinary potential. They are a nine-step process for awakening and expanding consciousness. They assist us in healing the wounds of the past and the wounds of our ancestors – the karmic and genetic inheritance we are born with. The Munay-Ki help us to become instruments of peace and agents for the awakening of humankind.

The Earthkeepers recognize that each of us has a Luminous Energy Field that permeates and envelops the physical body. This is like software that informs and organizes DNA, which is the hardware that manufactures the body. When we download the latest version of the software, we are reaching into the future and stepping into our destiny; receiving the instructions to re-program our DNA, helping us to create new rainbow light bodies that live, age, heal and die differently.

The Munay-Ki are the energetic gates to make this transformation within our lifetime. If you feel a calling from Spirit that resonates with your inner compass, we welcome you with an open heart.

It’s official– Denali.

Denali from Anchorage-- 8.10.15, 10:23 pm

The tallest mountain in North America has long been known to Alaskans as Denali, its Koyukon Athabascan name, but its official name was not changed with the creation of Denali National Park and Preserve in 1980, 6 million acres carved out for federal protection under the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act. The state changed the name of the park’s tallest mountain to Denali at that time, but the federal government did not.

Jewell’s authority stems from a 1947 federal law that allows her to make changes to geographic names through the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, according to the department.

“I think for people like myself that have known the mountain as Denali for years and certainly for Alaskans, it’s something that’s been a long time coming,” Jewell told Alaska Dispatch News Sunday.

Connection to one’s own core and connection to others.

It is not the desert island nor the stony wilderness that cuts you from the people you love. It is the wilderness of the mind, the desert wastes in the heart through which one wanders lost and a stranger. When one is a stranger to oneself then one is estranged from others too. If one is out of touch with oneself, then one cannot touch others… Only when one is connected to one’s own core is one connected to others, I am beginning to discover. And, for me, the inner spring, can be best refound through solitude.

What does it mean to be indigenous?

The core of indigeneity is to be actually from a place, to be of a place, to belong to a place. It is for one’s identity to draw from deep relationships to community, ancestors, plants, animals, and the land. It is to be embedded and inseparable, not just as a concept, but as an ongoing experience lived through ceremonies, social relationships, and technologies of giving and receiving to the other beings of nature, both visible and unseen. It is to be at home again, not in a home-as-box, but at home in the world.
